I live in Austin – Do I really need to get an STR license?
Yes, City of Austin ordinance requires a license for operating a short-term rental. Emerson Guest Properties can only represent fully licensed homes. You can learn more about what is required to obtain an STR license here:
The process of obtaining an STR license and setting up hotel taxes feels overwhelming to me – is this something I would be required to handle?
As a courtesy to our clients, we are more than happy to guide you through and facilitate the process of obtaining an STR license. We will also set up a hotel tax account for your property and pay taxes on your property’s behalf.
I do not live in Austin – would you consider managing my property?
We are always willing to discuss properties outside of Austin, TX. Please contact us with details.
